Web and Software Development
I have nurtured a passion for software since I began using my first computer. At Tufts, I have taken several computer science courses, including Data Structures and Algorithms, that I have used to solve problems with software. Here are some recent courses I have taken and projects I have worked on.
Web Development Class - Tufts University
In the Fall of 2015, I took a web development course at Tufts. I built several small- to medium-sized projects using
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, node.js + express, and other web development tools. I included a Google Maps-based chat service and a music mashup creation tool as some of my largest undertakings. Check out
my GitHub repository from this class to learn more about what I discovered and built.
MapChat
MapChat is a map-based checkin service I built using node.js + express and the Google Maps API. Visitors who opt to give the service their location will be added to the interactive map with a message.
Human-Computer Interaction
I am fascinated with the idea of reducing the communication gap between the creative human mind and the powerful computer processor. Below you'll find some of my efforts to make computers intuitive to humans.
Yeti
I worked with a team of students as User Experience Coordinator to reimagine Yeti, an app that helps users find entertainment near them on short notice. In this role, I was in charge of designing the app's user interface. I produced interactive PDF prototypes of some interface designs for user testing. (Here, you'll find one of the prototypes I created. It will work in your browser except on some mobile devices.) I also guided my team through the user testing process; I created a survey form for team members to walk through with test subjects.
